Dr. Lori Roberts Hauser Dr. Lori Roberts , past president of the South Carolina Optometric Physician’s Association, has been involved with the association, having served as trustee for the board, as legislative chair, as president of the Coastal Carolina Optometric Society and as a state leader for InfantSEE. She serves on a national level as a member of the American Optometric Association Communications Executive Committee. In 2006, Dr. Roberts received the South Carolina Optometric Physician’s Association Optometric Horizon Award, in 2008 & 2011 she received the Tim Burrell Legislative Award, and in 2009 she received the SC Young Optometrist of the year Award. In March of 2011, Dr. Lori Roberts was awarded the Young Optometrist of the South by the Southern Council of Optometrists.

Dr. Matthew McCoyBorn and raised in Nevada, Missouri, Dr. McCoy attended the University of Central Missouri for his undergraduate studies and obtained his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry. While attending UMSL, Dr. McCoy was a member of the optometric honor society, Beta Sigma Kappa, as well as the American Optometric Student Association and the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. McCoy completed various clinical externships, including: pediatrics and binocular vision here in Charleston, regular and specialty contact lenses in Raleigh, North Carolina and ocular disease in St. Louis, Missouri and Nome, Alaska. He is licensed to practice optometry in South Carolina as well as Kentucky, where he has completed certification courses for expanded therapeutic procedures. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association. Dr. McCoy resides in Mt. Pleasant and in his spare time enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Dr. Kathryn GahaganDr. Gahagan was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. Her college years were spent at the State University of New York at Fredonia earning a bachelor’s degree in the field of Biological Sciences. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Gahagan completed a number of clinical rotations in Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Mount Pleasant. These rotations served to give Dr. Gahagan experience in many aspects of optometry, including primary care, contact lenses, ocular disease, pediatrics and binocular vision. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association Dr. Gahagan resides in Charleston and in her spare time enjoys running and spending time at the beach. |
